Meet your local husband and wife team of winemakers, Dirk and Michelle Uys. In 2003 our family emigrated from South Africa and made the United States our home. We have since been residents of Temecula and consider ourselves very fortunate to be able to live in the heart of the beautiful Wine Country. We took our passion for wine to another level when we planted a vineyard and started to make wines that reflect our South African heritage and European palate.
Our intent is to remain small to always be able to be super attentive to each barrel. We strive to consistently produce high-quality natural wines with no additives, and minimal intervention in both the vineyard and cellar. Winemaking is a way of life for our family and as such we manage our own vineyard and every step of the winemaking process. The final product should always express a sense of place or origin, typical of where it was grown. We believe each bottle of UYS wine should provide a glimpse into the soul of mother earth and as artisans we will continue to pursue the soul of wine and make uniquely individual wines for you to enjoy.

Visit the smallest boutique winery in Temecula, specializing in natural wines, each with their own individual flare and style. Experience our small-batch wines in an informal setting with the winemakers. Tastings take place in our production facility where you will see different stages of winemaking depending on the season. Wines are available online and at our winemaking facility. Due to our limited production, wines will sell out fast. Some wines are limited one-offs, meaning that once they sell out, we will not bottle another vintage. Check back regularly for new releases selected by the winemaker for you to enjoy and share with your friends.
What is a garagiste?

A garagiste is a French term to describe independent, artisan winemakers crafting small batches of wine. These wines are crafted by experienced winemakers who are putting their hearts and souls into each bottle made. Essentially everything from start to finish is a labor of love.
The Garagiste Wine Club is our way of welcoming you to the inner circle of the Uys family Winery. We invite you to share in this journey with us as we create wines and experiences for you and your friends to enjoy. We are looking forward to creating lots of wonderful memories with you.
Club members will receive a shipment of 6 bottles every 6 months and have priority access to our limited production wines and private experiences at our winery.

Tour the Uys Family vineyard and cellar.
